Seascapes - day
Most of these photos are taken early in the morning when the tide is out and the sand becomes an abstract mirror to the sky. At this time the beach is mostly empty apart from the occasional dog walker or eager swimmer.
Thunderhead forming
A winter storm is brewing off the coast of Beachy Head. Thunder followed that night.

Silent dancers at dawn
Occasionally, at low tide, a silent disco takes place by the pier at Hastings. This morning in March, a rare sea fog occurred. The effect was rather magical.

Waiting for the Amsterdam
The sun emerges while I wait for the tide to drop to a yearly low to reveal the wreck of the VOC Amsterdam that ran aground on Bulverhythe beach in 1748.

Hastings Pier at low-tide
Almost all of the structure of the pier is visible at dawn with a very low spring tide.
The lights reflect dramatically in the tidal pool on this early morning.
