Fog & Fret
A sea fret (also known as a haar) is a dense, cold sea fog that rolls inland from the water.
Fog is quite uncommon by the sea here in St Leonards. Fog occurs more in the woods and forests inland. We had a few days of fog in March so, of course I went out to photograph the fog. First in woodland.

I found it pleasing that the fog seperated out the jumble of trees. There is a nice tonal seperation too. A distant blue tint gives a pleasing contrast.

Next I photographed the coast in the fog.

Next, the fret. It billows in like smoke on warm sunny days. Not popular with sun bathers but great for photography.

These next few photos were of a light fret in the evening sun. It gives an other worldly feeling to the scene, almost like a Terrance Malik film.
